We’re at that point in the kitchen where we have to make lots of decisions, about the flooring, appliances, countertops, backsplash, and they go on an on. I think this might be the hardest part because I don’t want to make a mistake and have to live with it for the remainder of the time we live in this house. I think we’ve made some progress this week but sometimes it seems like we take two steps forward and then one step back.
Here are some photos of what things look like at the moment.
We decided to have someone come and sand all the floors because we thought that there was a hardwood floor under the tile in the kitchen. It turns out we were wrong, well at least half wrong because there is hardwood BUT it’s only in half of the kitchen. The other half is plywood… which means we’re back to the drawing boards for our flooring. I’m hoping to have everything figured out by the end of this week since I have a couple of days off. We’ve narrowed down most of the categories to a few options, but I think the flooring is what we are most stumped about. Once we get the flooring in then we can start to build the cabinets and put them into place!!
In the meantime we have large piles of trash and lots of stress! I can’t tell you how excited I am for this holiday!!
