Kitchen Update

It’s been a really long time since I’ve posted, and I’m not sure if anyone even checks this blog anymore… is anyone reading this?!?   School has been crazy for- I was going to say the last couple of weeks- but the reality is that it’s been busy since Day 1.  I’ve been able to sneak in some projects in between everything else, but they’ve been few and far between.  Jimmee, my husband, was in a bike accident and had to have surgery so that really threw our plans off.  We had planned to start the kitchen renovation in early October, but since he hasn’t been able to lift anything, we thought it was better put it off.  :)   He’s finally starting to feel better, and we’ve been back to work on the kitchen.  I’m going to do the best I can to post our progress on here as we get things done.  So far we have about half of the cabinets out, and someone is coming THIS week to tear out the wall!!  I’m so excited.

Here are some photos of the kitchen at the moment.  It’s a mess.

(and look at this crazy color combination that used to be in the kitchen! the previous owner loved that bright yellow.)

We’ve taken one more cabinet out since this photo, and we’re hoping to have the rest out by the end of the week.  I’ll post more once the wall is gone.  Next weekend we’re headed down to Dallas to pick up part of the cabinet order so we can start building the boxes.  We have a long list of to-dos, but I’m happy we’re finally able to make a dent in them.

Hope you’re all enjoying the extra hour today!

wow, what a difference taking the wall out made. It’s a whole different feel to the 2 rooms now; it feels more modern already.

Good-bye and good riddance to you, ugly cabinets- so glad to see you go. Can’t wait for pics of the new ones!
