Our New and Improved Bedroom

The master bedroom is finally back together and looking decent so I thought I would give you guys a quick tour.  Everything is painted (for the most part), the furniture is back in, and the closet curtains are up.

Before we look at the new photos, I’ll do a quick recap of where this room started out.

Here it is when we moved in.

Here it is today.

I used the same Ritva curtains for the closet doors that I used earlier in the office, and they are so much easier to open and close.

We also have a lot more closet space compared to the room we were in before so both Jimmee and I can hang things in the closet.   It’s a little messy in this photo, but you can get the idea.

The other nice part is that we have built-ins in the closet for Jimmee’s clothes and my shoes!

Eventually, I’m going to paint the gray chest of drawers and put photos into those frames, but I’m still deciding what photographs to use and what color to paint….

My mom planted a bush of these Drift Roses when she was in town, and they are blooming like crazy.  I keep going out and picking them for each room of the house because they’re so cute, and they smell so good.

Now I’m off to look for those photographs and hang a couple more pictures around the house.  Hope you all have a great day!

The room looks great Anne! You did an awesome job! I love the built in shelf. Is that built into the closet or is it part of one of the walls in your room? That is neat that it even has a place for your shoes. I enjoyed seeing you guys on Saturday. Hope you have a great first week of classes!

What a transformation! It looks so cheerful – it must be a pleasure to walk into that room now. The roses are beautiful and it’s great that they smell good – so many roses now don’t have an aroma.

  3. Wow! It looks so fresh and inviting now. You guys did a great job! I’m especially fond of those adorable side tables… and envious of your fab shoe storage! ;)

  4. So happy you guys like it!

Erin, The built-ins are inside the closet to the left of the curtains. I really like the shoe racks too… they’re so handy!

  5. It looks peaceful and spacious. Well done!

So glad that you’re enjoying the roses, and that they are doing well for you. There’s nothing like having a vase of flowers from your own garden, and a bonus if they are scented! I wish mine were doing as well; the weather has everything cooking here in Houston.

Forgot to comment on the most important part of this post- the new bedroom!!
The room looks great- I can’t believe that it’s the same room that I stayed in. Looks like a peaceful place to wake up in. I’ll look forward to the pictures of the old master bedroom, new guest room.
